Christmas for me is a time for family.

Presents are cool, but it's the time I get to spend with my family is what makes it special.  My Mum + Dad live about 1400kms away from me, so I don't get to see them all that often.  I can't just jump in my car and drive for 15 minutes and I'm there. Would be good, but I can't.  So every Christmas, we all hang out together, and lately that has been at my sister's house.  Last year we went for Christmas dinner, and didn't leave for 5 days.  This year, we are prepared, and will take at least a couple of changes of clothes!!!

So, this morning, I went fishing.  Or should I say, "We went fishing."  My brother-in-law, my Dad and myself went off and wet a line.  To be honest, I can't remember the last time I went fishing with my Dad.  Think it might have been about 8 years when I made a surprise visit up to Townsville one Easter just to go fishing with him.

It didn't matter if we didn't catch anything, and I actually didn't (those other buggers did!).  It was just great to be out on the water, enjoying another beautiful Queensland summer day, and as my Mum said, "They'll probably just be talking shit!"  Well, we did a bit of that as well.

This is a shot of my Dad, throwing the cast net, trying for some bait fish.  Not a bad bloody cast either if you ask me!  I wish I could throw them like that!  It definitely is an art.

Taken on my GoPro, using the burst mode.  Pretty impressed with it as well.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to wish all of my followers a very merry Christmas.  Stay safe, eat heaps and have a couple of beverages as well.

Cheers.
